PAHAR is built on the contributions of researchers, writers, travelers, photographers, and activists who care about the Himalayan region. We welcome submissions in both English and Hindi.


What We Publish

📖 Research Articles

Academic and field research on Himalayan ecology, history, culture, and society. Both peer-reviewed and exploratory work are welcome.

🚶 Travel Writing

First-person accounts of treks, expeditions, and travels through the Himalayan arc — thoughtful, observational, and grounded in place.

📸 Photo Essays

Visual documentation of Himalayan communities, landscapes, and cultures. High-resolution images with contextual captions and narrative.

🌿 Community Voices

Stories, perspectives, and lived experiences from communities across the Himalayan region. Local voices are at the heart of PAHAR.

How to Submit

  1. Prepare your submission — Write your article in English or Hindi. Include a short bio and any images (with captions and permissions).
  2. Send it to us — Email your submission to the PAHAR editorial team via our Contact page.
  3. Editorial review — Our team will review your submission and get back to you within 4–6 weeks.
  4. Publication — Accepted pieces are edited collaboratively and published on the PAHAR website and/or journal.
